Post by 94_lude_vtec on Tue 22 Feb 2011, 3:15 pm

Just introducing myself. Ive come from PP and PZ. Some may recognize me, most may not lol I mostly joined because I heard that Fally was planning on doing a J swap. As am I. So what better place to communicate with him and share ideas than his own Prelude website Smile lol

Excellent! Welcome! Good news for you is that when my swap is done there may be mounts commercially available. Smile

When will yours be completed? And who will be offering the mounts? My swap starts as soon as I get out of basic in June.

Darthanis and I will be doing our swaps closely together this spring. I want mine done before June as I want to attend the ECPM at OBX again this year, and to do so with a V6 lude would be awesome. Darthanis is in contact with someone who is willing to manufacture the mounts, and depending on how everything works out will determine exactly who is selling them and for what price. He and I will definitely keep the Prelude world posted on that info.

That sounds awesome. Then I wont have to deal with fabricating my own mounts and worrying about clearances.

Clearances could be very different between a 4th and 5th gen... we'll definitely work with you though. Maybe we could get an after market oil pan that won't be too low...

Yeah clearances are definitely going to be different. Now that I'm thinking clearly, I am going to have to design my own mounts anyway. 4th/5th gen transmission mounts are different. I do not want to cut a hole i my hood. I want it to be a "surprise" when I pop my hood lol

Or when you step on the pedal. Smile

Stubbier mounts could do the trick, but you still run into vertical clearance issues with the height of the engine itself.

You don't want to get on P10's bad side either. He requires pics or ban.

Some of our post count from pp.com is spilling onto here haha.

Oh god, if PP's OT posts counted I'd probably have 10,000k posts already.
