The Red Headed Step Child
Picked it up on 5/18/2011
2k, 86k miles on the motor/body/cluster whichever one is right lol
interior was covered in dog hair so we stripped just about all of it out
oh and it only came with a driver seat and a rear one... so right now its a driver only car until we can get some seats for it.
New stuff that came in this week
Ebay spoon style mirrors
installed
Ebay M style Front lip!
OEM Mudflaps!
(don't have a picture of the front flaps but theyre on there!)
Duckbill spoiler!
paint is kinda faded, but that will just need a little work to get back to san marino or milano red (can't remember atm which it is)
we will be removing the pin strip and the little wheel well fender cover dealies, getting a free used catalytic converter this weekend since it failed emissions because of the hollow cat that was on it
that is about all for now though.

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
quick pic
it has SI rims on it right now and will be getting a new cat welded in hopefully today. we also had our buddy put a bigger IM and intake on it since we didnt have the know how of how/where to route the different lines too... and we were in a hurry to get it running again when we tried putting it on. new pics once we get it back from an emissions test again.

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
is what is actually sad is the lude has the fronts COMPLETELY dropped im as far as i can go on those... and the civic is still only a few inches taller. I cant wait to get that thing dropped/slammed!
Oh new headlights and corner lights are on the way, should be here tomorrow. A nice Morimoto Retro kit was ordered today from TRS
so once my work is done the headlights should look roughly like this.
except a 2 piece headlight rather than a single piece.

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
Must mean the GTI is a huge hatch, cause at stock height my roof line was still lower than my buddy's lowered GTI.
Re: The Red Headed Step Child
GTI's are huge hatch cars man.. even with the one in the pic completely slammed my lude still had him, hell even the civic is about even at STOCK lol can't WAIT to get that bish down when my brother in law gets back in a few weeks from NYC sounds like once he gets back we will be going with coils

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
had a little fail...
ordered a sedan set of headlights and corner lights since i couldn't find them bundled together for a coupe/hatch...
according to Honda the headlights are completely swappable across all the models. corner lights are not. the only part i didn't check...
but since we don't have the civic in possession atm i can't test fit them to see if i have to replace them with coupe/hatch ones for about $20
either way here they are
im somewhat concerned and will be opening the other box when i get home because they put the passenger side corner light with the drivers side headlight... so im hoping they got the drivers side corner light in with the passenger side headlight...
God dammit. Shop its been sitting at just called me. the used replacement cat i took down to them on saturday... they couldnt get it to work or something so i guess it will just sit for a while longer. I'm not gonna buy a brand new cat to have it put on an exhaust that will have to be changed anyway when we swap in the B18... id rather wait until we have the B18 in then get it setup correctly >.<

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
retro stuff came today
Found ANOTHER donor cat my buddy is going test pipe with his mazdaspeed3 so he said i could have his, he is a nice guy so ill toss him some money for it regardless of what he says.
corner lights don't work. there is a difference and i still cant believe i was stupid enough not to check them. regardless the new ones are on the way should be here on 6/16 Just have to get a stripped bolt off and then i can continue pulling the bumper and test fitting the headlights to make sure everything will all fit then when i get back from Idaho i will begin the retro
*EDIT*
BULBS!
Projector!
Shroud!
Relay harness!
Ballasts!
and the always needed sticker and business cards!

test fit the headlights the other day
testing out the 2nd set of corner lights i had to buy... these are the right ones this time lol
I got a little bored last night and made these to cover up the Acura center caps that came on the SI rims. they haven't gone on yet, ill probably toss them on next Wednesday when im back from Idaho.

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
well did the centercaps yesterday, one didn't want to stay on so i guess when it falls off ill make another one and use some adhesive and stick them on all real well
Hatch struts should be here today, and a trip to honda tomorrow is in store had my aunt order the stuff to attach the hatch struts to the window and the passenger side door trim since that was cracking and going ugly and the drivers side was fine! they will get here tomorrow for me and I am going to be getting some more keys made for it

Re: The Red Headed Step Child
Hatch struts installed! i made a video of the hatch being opened, just havent uploaded it lol
they work great though and its nice being able to have the hatch hold itself up
door molding/trim/whatever the hell you wanna call it... replaced
The new keys have been a PAIN IN THE ASS, only one that we got cut will actually start the car and come out of the ignition cylinder without force... the other one i bent it getting it out lets just say it wont be going back in the car anytime soon.
Headlights are open though
please ignore the fact that we messed the housing up just a little bit... it was the first time opening a headlight, the second headlight was easier once we knew what we were doing
quick test fit of the projector and shroud
